A little clarity

Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

Querida, Sadie is a family-run art project featuring our daughter Sadie’s artwork. We, her parents, manage the project through Cuevas Family Holdings LLC in Brownsville, Texas, including orders, customer support, and privacy requests. This policy describes information handled through queridasadie.com, our orders and subscriptions, and communications with us. It does not cover the independent practices of Stripe, Fidelity, or other websites you choose to visit.

2. Information used for orders and support

When you subscribe or order through Stripe, checkout collects the information needed to process and deliver the order. This may include your name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, optional phone number, language preference, and order and subscription details. We can access relevant order, contact, and payment-status information through Stripe to manage subscriptions, fulfill orders, and provide support.

Stripe collects and processes payment credentials. Our website does not collect or store full card numbers or card security codes. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you include. Please do not send card details or other sensitive information by email. If you provide a gift recipient’s information, only provide information you are authorized to share and that we need to deliver the gift.

3. Website preferences and technical information

The website uses your browser’s local storage to remember your language and shipping-region choices, under the keys qs-lang and qs-region. These preferences are stored on your device and are not, by themselves, an order or subscriber record. You can change them with the site controls or clear them through your browser settings.

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information needed to serve and secure the site, which may include IP addresses, request times, browser or device information, and error or security logs. The current site does not include advertising trackers or a separate marketing analytics integration. Fonts and artwork are served as website assets. The banner animation responds locally to pointer movement; the site does not send that movement to an analytics service.

Stripe, Fidelity, and their service providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies when you visit their pages. Their policies explain those practices.

4. Why information is used

We use relevant information to process purchases and renewals, mail artwork, manage address changes and cancellations, respond to questions, resolve delivery problems, maintain business and accounting records, prevent fraud, secure the website, and meet legal obligations. We do not use the website’s language or region preference to enroll you in marketing messages.

5. Providers and other disclosures

We use Stripe for checkout and subscription processing, Vercel for hosting, and postal or delivery services for shipments. Relevant information may also be handled by communications providers and professional advisers as needed to operate the business. We share information with these recipients as needed for their roles, and may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or the security of our services.

We do not sell customer personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If the business is involved in a merger, sale, or similar transaction, relevant records may be transferred subject to applicable law and appropriate privacy protections.

6. Separate Fidelity gifts

The college-fund link opens Fidelity’s gifting service. Information entered there is handled under Fidelity’s and the plan’s policies. Fidelity may provide the recipient with gift information, such as the donor’s name and gift amount, as described in its notices. We do not receive your bank credentials through this website. Review Fidelity’s privacy information before using its service.

7. Retention and security

We retain order and communication information for as long as reasonably necessary for fulfillment, support, business records, resolving disputes, and applicable legal requirements. Providers may have their own retention requirements. Browser preferences remain until you change or clear them. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information involved, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Your choices and privacy requests

You can update browser preferences with the website controls and contact us to correct order information or request cancellation. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

Send privacy requests to hello@queridasadie.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond as required by applicable law and explain any applicable limits, such as records we must retain. Requests about information held independently by Stripe or Fidelity may also need to be directed to that provider. Exercising a privacy right will not result in unlawful discrimination.

9. Children’s information

Although the artwork is created by a young artist, purchases and subscription management are intended for adults. We do not invite children under 13 to submit personal information or make purchases. An adult should manage a gift subscription for a child. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

10. International visitors and updates

We operate in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Privacy protections may differ by location; applicable legal protections still apply. We may update this policy as our services or practices change and will revise the date above. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
