A little clarity

Terms of Service

1. Who we are and who may order

Querida, Sadie is a family-run art project featuring Sadie Cuevas’s artwork. Cuevas Family Holdings LLC, managed by Sadie’s parents in Brownsville, Texas, operates the project and handles purchases and subscriptions (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These terms apply to this website and purchases from us. Please read them before placing an order. Purchasers must be at least 18, or the age of majority where they live, and able to enter into a binding agreement. An adult must place and manage any gift subscription for a child.

2. Our artwork and offerings

Sobres are monthly envelopes featuring Sadie’s artwork, a colorable postcard, a bilingual letter, and a sticker or paper craft. Contents, themes, and handmade details may vary. Screen colors can differ from printed colors. Cajas and shop items labeled “coming soon” are previews, not products available to order. Availability and any edition limits are stated with each offer.

3. Prices and payments

Prices are in US dollars unless checkout says otherwise. The checkout page shows your selected products, recurring charges, shipping charges, and any applicable taxes before payment. We use Stripe to process payments. Please provide accurate billing, shipping, and contact information and use a payment method you are authorized to use. Stripe’s own terms and privacy practices also apply to its services.

4. Monthly subscriptions and cancellation

Sobres is a recurring monthly subscription. When you subscribe, you authorize recurring charges at the price and interval displayed at checkout until you cancel. The México subscription includes the shipping charge shown at checkout. Gift subscriptions also renew unless checkout specifically states otherwise.

To cancel, email hello@queridasadie.com from the email address used at checkout and ask us to stop your subscription. Please send the request before your next billing date. We will confirm cancellation and the status of any charge or envelope already being prepared. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not by itself reverse a completed charge. This does not limit rights you have under applicable law. We will communicate any proposed subscription price change before it takes effect, as required by applicable law.

5. Shipping and delivery

We currently offer Sobre shipping to the United States, Puerto Rico, and México through the corresponding checkout links. Make sure you choose the correct region and enter a complete mailing address. Delivery times vary by destination, postal service, and customs processing; we do not guarantee an arrival date unless expressly agreed. For México orders, any customs duties or import charges assessed by local authorities are separate from the shipping charge unless checkout states otherwise.

For an address change, contact us as soon as possible. We may not be able to change an envelope that has already entered production or the mail. If an envelope is missing, damaged, or incorrect, email us with your order details so we can review it and explain the available resolution.

6. Returns, refunds, and order problems

Please contact us before returning an item. We review refund and replacement requests based on the issue, the order’s status, and applicable law. Include the email used at checkout, a description of the problem, and photos if an item arrived damaged. Any specific return or refund terms disclosed with a product also apply. Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights or remedies.

7. Sadie’s college fund

The 529 contribution link takes you to a separate Fidelity gifting page. A gift through that page is separate from a purchase or subscription with us, does not include artwork or a subscription, and is governed by the receiving plan’s and Fidelity’s terms. Contact Fidelity or the plan administrator for questions about a contribution. We do not provide tax or investment advice or make promises about tax treatment.

8. Artwork and respectful use

Artwork and original website content belong to their respective copyright owners. Buying a print or subscription gives you the physical items, not ownership of the copyright or permission to reproduce, sell copies, license, or commercially use the artwork. Personal coloring and display of the items you receive are welcome. Please contact us about any other use. You may not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt unauthorized access.

9. Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains the information used to run the website and fulfill orders. Third-party websites, including Stripe and Fidelity, operate under their own terms and policies. We do not control those services.

10. Availability, responsibility, and disputes

We work to keep descriptions and availability accurate, but errors and service interruptions may occur. If an error affects an order, we will contact you about the available options rather than make a material change without your agreement. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from website use. No provision excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including any applicable consumer guarantees.

Please contact us first about a dispute so we can try to resolve it. Texas law governs these terms, except where mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence apply. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive any non-waivable rights.

11. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms and will revise the date above. Changes apply prospectively, subject to any notice or consent required by law. The terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order unless we agree otherwise with you or applicable law requires a different result.
